Legal Tech Chicago is owned and operated by Kevin Doran.

Kevin has over a decade of experience in the legal industry. He opened Legal Tech Chicago in 2020 amidst the pandemic and the unprecedented adoption of legal technology across the world. Kevin graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2015 and completed his Master of Law in Taxation in 2017. Kevin is licensed and in good standing in the state of Illinois and has been part of dozens of legal teams in Chicago and around the country as a hot seater, trial consultant, and equipment technologist. He is an expert in trial presentation tools and software, trial procedure, e-discovery software, and courtroom equipment.

Kevin’s years of experience in the courtroom has given him unique insight to present evidence and crucially, how to quickly and effectively identify and solve courtroom tech problems before they are even noticed.

Kevin also loves to teach and train attorneys, paralegals, legal staff, and anyone who will listen about what a hot seater does and how to use the ever-increasing multitude of trial and legal technology tools. He firmly believes that with the right training, everyone is capable of effectively using any piece of technology, both in court and preparing for trial.
